We Found Our Superhero

You may have read at the beginning of the year about our ‘Search for a Superhero‘.

We were looking for a Volunteer Manager who was friendly, sociable, highly organised, self-motivating and a pleasure to work with.

They didn’t need to be able to fly, see through brick walls or read minds. But they did need to be passionate about the work of Bright One’s volunteers and the possibility of superhuman proportions of the difference we can make.

We’ve found our superhero. Her name is Linda Jim.

Unfortunately it was actually quite hard to find an appropriate photo of Linda – no sunglasses, no silly hats and not on holiday, on a beach, on a snow capped mountain and not with camels (which shows you how adventurous she is!). We like this one though :)

A bit more about Linda…

She is qualified accountant by trade with many years of experience working in the investment banking industry, currently working as a global business risk manager for an international investment bank. She passionate about social sector finance with particular interest in Grameen Foundation and sustainable self-financing programs for the third sector.

Linda has corporate PR and Marketing Diplomas, and is particularly interested in the education aspect of PR. She;s also volunteered previously, as a volunteer access assistant for Shape Arts for many years (a charity that takes disabled people to the concerts and theatres).

Her particular expertise is training , best practice management, communications and general business acumen in organisational efficiency in people and process. Linda is also a foodie who loves travelling and photography of all sorts of random stuff :)

As you can tell, she’s got some great experience, passion and ideas, and has already made a huge difference to making our volunteers feel welcomed to the Bright One community and start making a real difference.
